Helpful Conversations, Life, Safe Driving

Preview of my next book

When I started Blogging fourteen years ago. My first Blog was written about Safe driving. Doesn’t surprise me that fourteen years later I would be writing a Book about Safe travels.
When I started Blogging,I promised myself that every Blog would be better than the one before. It’s also my attitude with writing and publishing Books. On my Tax return I list myself as “Publisher” Here are excerpts from my next Book #4

Safe Travels: Driving to Live
To most people, coming upon an accident doesn’t strike a note or nerve; they drive the same way until it’s their turn to be carried away in a body bag. Your job is to avoid people like that by driving as if you are the only one out there who knows what you are doing. There are far too many suicide drivers for you not to take your driving seriously.

The Reality of Dangerous Drivers
Dangerous drivers are a constant presence on the roads. These “suicide drivers” are reckless, inattentive, or overly aggressive, creating hazardous conditions for everyone around them. To stay safe, you must:

Stay Alert: Always be aware of your surroundings. Watch for erratic behavior from other drivers and anticipate their moves.

Avoid High-Risk Drivers: If you spot someone driving dangerously, do your best to distance yourself from them. Change lanes, slow down, or take an alternate route if necessary.

Maintain Control: Keep a firm grip on the steering wheel and stay in control of your vehicle at all times. Be prepared to make quick, defensive maneuvers if needed.

Quality Time on the Road
For me, my commute is quality time. I’m surrounded by fine leather, a Bose stereo system, and a console that prompts me to listen to my text messages or dismiss them. Driving is more than just getting from point A to point B; it’s an experience to be enjoyed. But it’s also a responsibility to be taken seriously.

The Tool of the Road
My car can do 170 MPH. To some, that is a weapon; to me, it’s a tool to avoid mindless drivers setting up accidents. Speed and power are not about showing off; they are about having the capability to maneuver out of dangerous situations when necessary.

Use Speed Wisely: While having a powerful car can be beneficial, it’s essential to use that power wisely. Speed should be used strategically to avoid accidents, not to create them.

Understand Your Vehicle: Know your car’s capabilities and limitations. Familiarize yourself with how it handles in different conditions, so you can make informed decisions when driving.

Drive Responsibly: Always obey traffic laws and speed limits. Use your vehicle’s power to enhance your safety, not to endanger others.

Driving to Live
I am an enthusiast, but most importantly, I drive to live. Safe driving is not just about protecting yourself but also about respecting the lives of others on the road. Here’s how you can adopt this mindset:

Respect the Road: Understand that driving is a privilege, not a right. Respect the road and those who share it with you.

Stay Focused: Eliminate distractions and stay focused on driving. Your car’s features, like a stereo system or text message prompts, should enhance your experience without taking your attention away from the road.

Be Prepared: Always be ready for the unexpected. Keep your vehicle well-maintained and ensure you are physically and mentally prepared for the demands of driving.

Conclusion
Safe travels require a commitment to vigilance, responsibility, and respect. By driving as if you are the only one who knows what you are doing, you can navigate the roads safely, avoiding the recklessness of others. Embrace the joy of driving, but never forget the seriousness of the responsibility that comes with it.

Drive to live, and make every journey a testament to your dedication to safety and enjoyment. Let your vehicle be a tool for good, helping you navigate the dangers of the road while enhancing your driving experience.

Inscasable

Inscasable: The Urge for Going Back for Seconds and Thirds

Have you ever experienced that irresistible urge to go back for seconds and thirds? It’s a sure sign that something is exceptionally good. Interestingly, I never considered applying the term “inscasable” to a book until I read Cannery Row. Now, I’m confronted with my own book, Through Her Eyes Revised, and realizing just how inscasable it is.

After employing four different AI software programs to edit the book, I’ve read it over twenty times. Today, I downloaded the Kindle version, and to my surprise, I still found it just as interesting. This experience has made me reflect on my journey as a blogger and writer.

When I started blogging, I made a promise to myself: each blog post would be better than the last. Over the past eleven years, I’ve written more than five hundred blog posts, and this book is the culmination of all that work. It’s a product of continuous improvement, dedication, and a passion for storytelling.

Through Her Eyes Revised isn’t just a book; it’s a testament to the power of persistence and the joy of revisiting something you love, time and time again. Whether it’s a beloved meal or a cherished book, some things are simply inscasable. The Book is available everywhere my favorite place is Amazon.

P.S. just published my first Children’s book: “Children with big Ears and Potty Mouth”. Also on Amazon

A Chicken in every Pot

Lately I have been so busy writing Books and promoting, Blogging takes a back seat. So Re-Post fills the gap. Here is an old Blog that remains timeless;

Chicken in Every Pot

A Chicken in Every Pot

Forty years ago living in N.Y. I was never a Fan of Donald Trump. It had nothing to do with his personal Philosophy, his Political views, his Mannerisms or his Personal Habits. It was the way he handled Money, that turned me off. 1978 when I worked for Solomon Brothers Investment Banking Brokerage House. The first year in a low level job I received a Christmas Bonus of Eight thousand Dollars. One year later when I became Eligible to invest in the Company’s matching Fund Program. Knowing that whatever I Invested, the Company would match the amount. I treated my Money like Monopoly Money. The first year all my Investments were 100% in High Risk. At the end of the year I was Blown away by how much Money I had made. This is not a Stock Trade Blog, that was just to show you what smart Money handling can do. Now you wonder why Forty years later I still don’t like Donald. If my Father left me 450 Million Dollars, over Forty years of smart Money handling it would be close to Billions. The way he invested that 450 Millions were like when Michael Jackson went shopping, One of this , Five of that and so on. Spending like that doesn’t grow your Wealth, it Diminishes it. Investing in the Stock Market is not For everyone, neither is investing in Real Estate. For instance Curtis who worked on a Loading Dock in New Jersey, hit the Lottery for Six Million Dollars. As a result of poor Money handling, within one or more years, he had depleted his Lottery winnings and ended up back in his old job. If I invested One Million in High Risk for Six Months it would be worth Millions or Zero after Six Months. That’s how High works. So I ask myself how come Trump is only Paper Rich after Forty Years. When you are Paper Rich, all it represents is Assets, Assets are only Holdings that are Riddled with Debts. Sometimes the Money under your Mattress is worth more than Assets. So why would I believe Trump telling me that he knows more about Money than anyone, Such a Lie. When I worked for Solomon the C.E.O. John Gutfreund made 12 M per year with a 12 Million Bonus. Mr G. As we called him He Earned the Title King of Wall Street. When he took over the Company, Solomon was an Obscure Name. With his Leadership Solomon Rivaled Goldman Sachs, that’s how someone who knows about Money works. If John had Aspired to become President, every American would have a Chicken in his Pot and Two Thousand Dollars in the Bank. And there you have it, the Motivation for this Blog. Mr Trump’s Legacy is Tarnished from A-Z. The way he handled the Corona Virus made me like him less. My Mother have always told me that there were Good in everyone, even though I questioned her Wisdom on that. Trump has been Lame Duck for Ten Months. Now all of a sudden Donald the President has surfaced. Slapping Congress in the Face by Criticizing the Stimulus offer of Six Hundred Dollars, that won’t even put a Chicken in the Pot, after you have given it all to your Landlord as a Down payment towards your back Rent. That is the Donald I have waited four years to see. He got your Votes from promising to be a Man for the Poor Working Slob. Yet he spent his first Three years Tweeting. Now the President has surfaced, Thirty Days before leaving Office. If he had came out fighting Congress like he is doing now , and did a better job handling Covid19, he would have been there a second Term. when the Game is in Double Overtime, trailing badly, he comes out swinging. My Views would have been Different if he had not Twiddled away his Tenure. Remember me telling you that his Penchants were not my concerns, only the way he handled Money, and the way he did his Job. Other than that, I am blown away by his Charismatic Gregarious Nature. So even if Mitch beats him on this One, it’s the Thought that counts. Losing to Mitch McConnell is no Disgrace, the American People is used to losing to him. You had your Moment in the Spotlight, move on Gracefully, like a King Abandoning his Throne for the Greater Good of his People. The American People thanks you for showing up Mitch and McCarthy. Their is not a Congress of the People, for the People by the People. After Fifty years of paying Taxes, I don’t mind giving away my Money to other Taxpayers who finds themselves on a Mile long Line waiting for a Handout of free Food. As I am finishing up this Blog I hear the News that Mitch and the Gang defeated the Vote for Two G’s, so that we can pay for the Three Martini Lunches. The Mid Term is not that far away. Voting Party Lines sometimes is cutting your own Throat.
