Life, Safe Driving

Be The Driver

Be the Driver

Every time I think that there is nothing left to be said about careless and recklessness behind the Wheel, you prove me wrong. Stay at Home Rule is in effect, the Roads are less congested by more than fifty percent. Yet this morning I woke up to the News that there was an early morning Fatal Crash in my Area. This brings to mind a Joke I told my Wife when I was teaching her to Drive. I told her that it doesn’t matter what time of Day it is, no matter where you are, Highway,  Rural or City. Always know where you are on the Road, who is in front, beside and behind you. The Joke went like this, I could be in the Desert at three A.M. no one in front of me for five miles and no one behind me for five miles yet I would still have an Accident.

She asked how so, I replied, they would fall from the Sky. No word of lie that’s how it is out there. These Days I go to work at the Courthouse, there is no Traffic on the Road, no Court in Session, yet there are Cars in the Parking Lot. The only Employees allowed to come to work are Clerks collecting Money for Fines. The only People coming there are People whose Fines are past Due. With no Traffic on the Roads People are still killing themselves and others,  by yielding to the temptation of Speeding. These People who are always heavy footed are clueless when it comes to Evasive Maneuvering. For instance your Car ends up on two Wheels, your Passenger side is in the Air, they don’t know that turning your Steering Wheel slightly to the right will set the Car back down on all four. Over compensating will flip it on the Passenger side.

One of my Neighbors killed himself and his two young Sons, his Wife has permanent Scars
The Driver of this Maserati killed himself and his two young Sons, his Wife severely injured.

Yet these same People are always Driving at Breakneck speed. In an earlier Blog I wrote about Harry, he Drove at Breakneck Speed all his Life crashing BMWS and the likes. All his bad crashes were caused by excessive speed, yet he learned nothing. His last and final crash, they had to cut the Car apart to remove his badly mangled Body from the Car. He broke his Neck in two places, his License revoked for all the other crashes that were charged to his recklessness. I am forever amazed by People like Harry blowing off my Doors, in a hurry to Calamity. My Car will be five years old in two months, I change my Oil religiously and frequently add Fuel injector cleaner to my Gasoline. The Car runs better than the Day I drove it of the New Car Lot, in Idle the Tachometer never leave 750 RPM.

One Night around two A.M. all by my Lonesome on the Bayside Bridge, I decided to exercise the Lifters and blow out the Combustion Chamber. I punched it slightly at sixty five, in the bat of an Eye the Speedometer read over 100. With all that Power I am still one of the most Civilized Driver on the Roadways. Traveling from Florida to South Carolina the Speedometer never passed eighty. Yet there were People leaving me in the Dust. The same ones who don’t know how to set the Car back down, avoiding a rollover. I think that it all Boils down to Respect, they don’t respect the Vehicle, it’s Engineering or its Capabilities. Most importantly they don’t respect their Privilege to Drive and their fellow Drivers. Why do you think that there are so many incidents of Road Rage.

It doesn’t matter if it is two A.M. or two P.m. you will always find these same Flighty People on the Roadways creating Havoc. Your Job is to know that they are out there in the Nevada Desert waiting for you at two A.M.  It’s for you to be (The Driver) the one who save Lives, the one who always make it back Home to the ones who love you. What I love most about writing Blogs about bad Drivers is, bad Drivers are like Alcoholics, they don’t like other people telling them about themselves. They resents it to no end. If you think I’m lying, next time you are the Passenger, ask why is he Driving like that. When I was a Teenager, whenever I was driving too fast, my Mother  would always ask me where is the Fire. Those words  always Irked me, Back Seat Drivers I mumbled to myself.

Nonetheless they taught me not to create Anxiety in my Passengers. My Friends call me Repetitious when I remind them of our young and Reckless Days. I do the same to my Readers in hope that one of them comes away with something that will save a Life. So here we go again. It was late Night on a Saturday. Five young Men partying the Night away. The oldest being twenty two, the youngest being me at seventeen. The two older Guys had just acquired Brand New Cars. We were Party hopping, each stop the Drivers had one to three mixed Drinks. After three stops on our way to the last, which almost became our final stop on this Earth. The Drivers decided to Race each other.

This was nothing short of The Young and Reckless, no respect for the Odometer reading one Thousand Miles. Sitting in the Passenger Seat I couldn’t help noticing the Needle teetering 115 MPH. When we got to the Exit Ramp we were going way too fast to negotiate the Ramp. Halfway through the Ramp I was sitting in the Drivers Lap. The Car was on two Wheels, I accidentally touched the steering Wheel to the right, which sat the Car back down. Eyes still glued to the Speedometer reading 90 MPH when it entered the Ramp, Halfway through, it only dropped down to 50. Well it must be true that the Lord looks out for Babies and Fools, otherwise I would not be here writing this Blog. I feel compelled to Reminisce these Tragic events hoping to save a Life. This one is for you Precious, my Friend Precious lost her Life at nineteen years old. The Driver taking her Home from a party was Intoxicated, he hit a Light pole sending her through the Windshield. Speaking out about Reckless People is something that’s been Bottled up in me for fifty years.  Parting words, ” Be the Driver, Be the Responsibile one” there are enough Reckless Drivers out there.

Safe Driving

The Rabbit

The Rabbit

When I was in my thirties I met a Woman that had as much Spunk as myself. At thirty I played Basketball with Teenagers and walked for miles. This Woman was one Hundred and six years old yet she was spray and Energetic. I asked her what was her secret, in one word she answered, Moderation. From then on I was on my way to living well. Before I met her I was compulsively Excessive in everything I did including Spending. One Night I was Traveling I-74, twelve O’clock at Night on this Desolate Road. The Temptation to pop the Lifters on a Motor with only nine thousand on the Odometer overcame me. So here I was Transmission downshifting at 100 when I passed a Cop sitting in the Dark waiting for me, Radar Gun going off the Megahertz.

The Lifters were already wide open, so punching it took me to 125 in three seconds. That gave me enough time to make it to my Exit before he shifted from park. That is what a twenty one years old Compulsive Excessive does, thinking that he was better than Mario Andretti. When I parked the Car I promised myself that this would never happen again, knowing that if I was Apprehended I would have been Arrested and probably lost my License. Furthermore if I hit a Pothole I would have been Airborne. Very few of us are able to make adjustments in our Destructive Patterns of Living, so in the end it kills us or someone else. The other Day on my thirty five miles Commute at two P.M. in the Afternoon, I noticed this Car working the Traffic aggressively.

At the Stoplight I glanced in the Car to see a Man of my Age looking Smug, as if to saying, I got this. Then the old Adage popped in my Head, “you can’t teach an old Dog new tricks”, especially if he was too stupid to learn when he was young, as I did at twenty one eluding Cops. I fully understand that when you are young you can be Dumb and full of yourself. It has always been my Desire to get better with Age in whatever I did in Life, including Driving. So why is it that everyday I am out here Driving I feel like the One Eyed Man in the Land of the Blind. Eighteen to Eighty they all drive the same, with Reckless Abandon, behind the Wheel they act like a four year old in a Candy Factory, they eat themselves sick with their craving for speed.

One year Statestics for my Geographic Location amounted to thirty seven Million Accidents with Astronomical Fatalities. Those Fatalities include Pedestrians Bicyclists and People on Motorized Wheelchair. I watch the Morning News and every single Day there are numerous Rush Hour Crashes, some with Fatalities. I will forever be citing Albert Einstein’s definition of a Fool, my Interpretation, Driving the same way for twenty five years, each time expecting different Results. It is what it is, your Driving Facilitates thirty seven Million Crashes. Watching Greyhound Racing have thought me that a Dog haven’t been born yet who caught the Rabbit, they are usually lined up chasing the Rabbit. It’s a darn shame that Speedsters never realized til l it’s too late that there has to be a Rabbit.

Going home twelve at Night I am always Clocking minimum of ten miles over the speed Limit. Yet it never fails there is always someone wanting to travel with me or pass me. When that happens I let them be the Rabbit, they shield me from the Radar Gun and I follow five carlengths behind them. It would be Idiotic for me to maintain my speed, that amounts to Racing. Something I never do even tho I can prompt my Car to do 175, with no stress on the Motor. This is what happens when you Mellow with Age. At twenty one if I had a Car that did 175 I probably wouldn’t be here to tell Speed Demons that Speed Kills. A Friend of mine who is Highly Educated, yet he Drove like an Idiot all his Life. He always Drove like he had a Point to prove.

Every time he got behind the Wheel all his Intelligence flew out the Window and up pops the little Macho Devil. Over the years this Guy have Smashed the best Cars made, from BMWs on down. I think a minimum of five bad Wrecks is a conservative number. Yet one bad Accident after another all having to do with excessive speed, didn’t tell him anything, Harry was always the Rabbit. His last Accident was survived only by the Hand of God, broken Neck in two places, broken Spleen, broken Pelvis and leg. They had to Extricate him from the Vehicle the way an Archeologist dig to recover aged Artifacts. The outcome, four years of Therapy, loads of Oxi and a Revoked Licenses.

One of my Neighbors killed himself and his two young Sons, his Wife has permanent Scars
The Driver of this Maserati killed himself and his two young Sons, his Wife severely injured.

When talking about the Accident he never mentioned the other Vehicle or Vehicles involved or whether anyone Died. However Silence have always spoken Loudly in my Book. States are also Negligible for keeping Drivers like that on the Road. Now Harry is a Recluse popping Oxis all Day Long, basically Living to Die. That’s not me, I plan to live out my Life with a Bang. I plan to spend many Hours on the Ocean drinking Beer, catching Fish for my Dinner and writing Blogs. I will not allow people like Harry to disrupt my plans for living it up till my last Breath is drawn. That’s why each Day I am out there with Kamakizi Drivers I Drive like a Jedi Pilot in a Meteor Storm. I hope you Guys understand that I write about whatever that is on my Mind, but I will never stop beating my Gums about the way you Drive. In hope to save just one Life. Incidentally there is a Star on my Drivers License indicating that I am a Safe Driver, what’s on yours?.

Life, Motivation, Safe Driving

Telluride

Those of you who follow my Safe Driving Blogs knows that I have covered Millions of Miles Driving. Many of those Miles Driving Commercially and the rest covering Cross Country Road Trips. It is a Phenomenal Accomplishment to have had only two bad Accidents that were not caused by me. One with a Truck with bad Brakes and one by a Nut Driving a Jaguar who cut me off on Ice covered Pavement. Both with no Injuries. One Speeding Ticket in over fifty years of Driving covering millions of Miles is also a Feat. Better yet I have always travelled over the speed limit. How can I do that without collecting Tickets? A Trucker once told me that traffic Cops will not write a ticket until you reach the magic number. If you don’t reach the magic number, it doesn’t cover Administrative Costs and is not worth writing the Ticket.

I am not going to Publish the Magic number, because if I do everyone will be Driving at the same speed as I do, creating Congestion. You have slow Congestion and fast congestion, both are the wrong way to Drive. Vehicles need to be Staggered, that’s how you Drive for fifty years with no Accidents. If you Live Day to Day each Day is a new Learning experience. I was having this same conversation with one of my Coworkers, from observing the way my other Coworkers perform their Jobs on a Daily basis. Over and again I tell him that the Labor Laws stipulates that before you can fire a new Employee, you have to give them ninety Days to learn the Job. My contention is, if you are clueless as to what the Job entails, you should not have taken the Job in the first place.

Furthermore if you are a quick learner, after the first week you should have a firm grip on what you are doing. It should not take ninety Days or three Hundred Days. When I came up with the Notion that I wanted to write Blogs about Safe Driving and having my own Website. I knew that I had the Driving Experience to speak Authoritatively on the Subject. However the the most Words that I have ever formulated were a five Hundred Words Essay in my High School English Literature Classes. Now here I was fifty years later wanting to write Blogs. When my Website Designer notified me that the Site was completed, he told me that I had ten Days to produce ten Blogs. He told me that you can’t Launch a Website with nothing on it.

Before setting Pen to Paper I went to the Library and got two Books on writing Blogs. At the end of ten Days ten Blogs were Posted on my New Website. It didn’t take me ninety Days to learn what Writing Blogs entails. Neither should anything you do in Life, if you apply yourself. Driving shouldn’t be any Different than learning your Job or developing a strong Relationship over a period of time. With that being said let’s move on to the Subject at hand, Driving. I understand that there are many among you who don’t like my Krass Style of talking about the way you Drive. Over the years I have learned that if you speak to People intelligently and they still play the Fool, you treat them as such. Usually I don’t Name the Characters I Write about. However Tom needs to know how I feel about his callous attitude towards Life.

For years I wanted to tell Tom that he was Stupid, when you tell the truth feelings get hurt and sometimes it starts a fight. Nonetheless I must tell you about Tom. I worked with Tom for years on Construction Projects, the only place that Safety is of the utmost concern than Construction Sites is Driving. He practiced safety on neither. I have never met  anyone else like Tom in my Lifetime. This Man was chronic Late for every occasions including Work. We took turn Driving our Cars to work, naturally some Days I am the Passenger. One Day on our way to Work, we were on this strip of Road straight through the Woods of Pennsylvania. The Road was posted 35 MPH, every half a Mile Signs were Posted, “watch for Deers” those Signs meant nothing to Tom.

We were Late as usual so he did 75 MPH the entire Strip. If a Herd of Deers had crossed our Path, I would not be writing this Blog. One Day we were working on a Roof, the Supervisor warned Tom about working Dangerously close to the Edge of the Roof repeatedly. It was as if the Supervisor was talking to a Rock. At Witt’s end the Supervisor told Tom that he was Dumber than a Bunch of Rocks. Labor Laws frowns on how Management talks to Employees. However the Boss was Dead to Right. Those of you who follow my Blog knows that I presently work for a County Justice System. The Building I work in is two Football Field Long. It houses over twenty Courtrooms. The third floor is mostly Traffic Court.

This Building Generates more money than a Wall Street Brokerage House. How so you say? Handing out Fines, sometimes in the Thousands of Dollars. Anywhere from People choosing to pay Fines than doing Jail Time to People caught Driving without Insurance. Yesterday I got off the Elevator on the third floor, there were no less than two Hundred People in the Hallway waiting to part with their hard earned Cash to some heavy Handed Judge. I say to myself ” Dumber than a Bunch of Rocks” remember me telling you about Administrative Costs, multiply three Hundred and fifty Dollars times two Hundred. That is why I never exceed twelve MPH above the speed Limit. I would rather go to the Casino and feed the one arm Bandits, than giving my Money to the Cash Cow of the County.

If you can’t get  Insurance or you can’t afford it, you can not Drive, and you are not supposed to be Driving, not even to the Corner Store. You think you can’t afford it or think you can skirt the Law you are so wrong. What you can’t afford is the Law Suit to recover Damages, while you are sitting in Jail. When you get out of Jail and your old job didn’t wait for you, your new Paychecks are Garnished to the max and there is a Levy on everything you own. That’s as close to Ruin that anyone wants to get. So why is my Home State of Florida Ranked in the top three States for Fatal Hit and Runs. The reason for So many Hit and Runs is that  many People are Driving with no Insurance and bad Licenses. This very week that I am writing this Blog, a Woman hit and Killed a five years old Child. She got out of her Car, looked at the Child’s lifeless Body, got back in her Car and took off. Did I mention Rocks. These are the People I share the Roadways with daily. Hit and Run Fatalities should not be Vehicular Manslaughter, just plain and simple Manslaughter, minimum Jail Time should be twenty five years.

Coming Home last Night prompted this Blog. As usual I like to be out front away from the congestion. At one point I approached three Cars travelling side by side at the same speed of forty five. They continued the Rock-like Mentality for over a Mile. As soon as I got my opening I punched it to sixty in a fifty MPH Zone. I distanced myself by two Miles. Wouldn’t you know it that two of these Lame Brains Raced each other at eighty MPH to catch up to me. One positioned his Car Parallel to mine the other half a carlength behind me. Once the Hazards situation developed I put on my Flasher, yet the Idiot stayed glued to my Bumper, Did I mention Dumber than a Bunch of Rocks. Now you have three Cars exceeding the Speed Limit in close quarters, a Recipe for disaster. That’s how they Drive in my Neck of the Woods Tampa USA. Once you pass them they develop an Attitude, now they have a point  to prove. That they are Dumber than a Bunch of Rocks. I would be a Liar if I said that Tampa Drivers are the Worst in the World. I see Plates down here from every other States including Canada, guess what they are all of the same Mindset, Rocks. That’s why we have an average of at least one Fatality each Week in a thirty Mile Radius. Albert Einstein said it Best ” The true Definition of a Fool is someone doing something the same way continuously, each time looking for different Results”. The way you Drive tells People that you “Ride” not just a Vehicle Operator, not just a Driver, Not just a Motorist. A Rider is pretty much like a Jedi Pilot in a Meteor Storm. No matter what they throw at you, you are ready and on the Cutting Edge.A Rider do does not put themselves in Harms Way, they sit back and watch you Burn yourself out. For instance, I am Driving on a Strip of Road, the Rain turned to Ice. Here I am passing a Junkyard of Cars who Skidded off the Road into the Berms, no less than a Hundred Cars. I made it to clear sailing out of the Ice Storm. What does that say about the Hundred I left behind, what does that say about my Driving, I didn’t have Snow Tires with Cleats. Baby I’m a “Rider”. Driving should be no Different than learning your Job, you shouldn’t need more than ninety Days to know what you are doing. The rest comes with practice. Most smart People practice safe sex, yet these same smart People don’t practice safe Driving. In conclusion, Drive to Live and save Lives, not like a Rock. Like anything else in Life settling for Mediocrity hinders Greatness.

Life, Safe Driving

Safe Driving / My Occupation

Safe Driving USA / In Stereo

Safe Driving USA is a Dream of mine, where Everyone Drove like I do, never looking for an Accident or creating one, or making Life the Roll of a Die. When Traveling in Tight Quarters always be in a Pocket, not a Cluster, Staggering Traffic is something the Twenty First Century have not caught on to, I always Stagger the Traffic Formation by spacing Myself properly, instead of acting like I’m playing a Video Game, wound Tight. Show your fellow Drivers that you are Diligent and Skilled to the point of saving Lives, especially when traveling at high speeds. Remember that Roads were made to be Driven and Cars to be Handled safely and Responsibily. I buy myself Quality time when I get behind the wheel by being Diligently Skillful Faithfully. In turn I never have to worry about what you’re going do, whenever I am Driving I am always in defense Mode, better yet Jedi, because there are too many Wreckles Drivers on our Roadways. For Example, a Man and his wife Breaks down under a dark Underpass with a Blind Bend. She remains seated, he gets out and stand behind the Vehicle waving off one near miss after another. He was not far enough away from the Stalled Vehicle to avoid Calamity.

When I turn my Ignition my Wi-Fi is always live so my Music is only Dormant when the car is turned off. Music is an absolute must, considering that my Surround Sound is presented by Bose. I plan to keek this Car till it becomes an antique. In four Months this Car will be five Years old, I plan to start Rebuilding all Moveable Parts, and Suspension, preferably with my own two Hands. My Motivation is, several years ago I stood  six inches from a Car with four Hundred Thousand Miles on the Odometer and didn’t know that the Motor was running. With proper Maintenance they all can run like that. In twenty years this Car should not have a  Rattle, nothing to distract the Sounds coming from the Stereo System. Safe Driving is my Platform, so no matter whatever else I Write about I always come back to square one. Because I love Driving  and listening to Great Sounds.

listening to Music when I Drive keeps me Focused and not have to worry about you sending my Stereo System to the Repair Shop or the Junkyard. The Stereo system is so Pristine I believe that the rest of the Car was built around it. When I started Driving I went to the Junkyard every weekend to keep the Heaps I drove running. Now my Car ask me to Say a Command or whether I want to receive this text. I tell it to play my favorite Stations, Like Emerald say “Bam” and I’m in the Studio. This is what Driving is supposed to be, it’s an escape for me. It shouldn’t be a harrowing experience of dare devil performances. A lot of us gets behind the wheel and we get all Hyped up and we want to Drag Race.

One of my Neighbors killed himself and his two young Sons, his Wife has permanent Scars
The Driver of this Maserati killed himself and his two young Sons, his Wife severely injured.

People think that Drag Racing is always traveling at a high rate of speed, not so, traveling at forty five MPH for two miles not allowing the other car to pass you is Slow Drag. If I am in the lead and someone catches up to me while maxing the speed limit, I immediately back off, not backing off, I am now Drag Racing. The Car Manufacturers have got you in a Hype thinking that Driving is Zoom Zoom all the time, have you ever seen a Commercial that they don’t brag how nimble their car is. When I get behind the Wheel for my one Hour Commute I minimize the anxiety and Stress by Driving the way an Airline Pilot fly his Plane, between Takeoff and landing, no near misses. That gives me the opportunity to enjoy my Bose System for that one Hour of Madness we call the Commute.

I know that I am being Repetitious by telling you how bad the Drivers are in my Hometown of Tampa. There is not a Week that goes by without  Fatalities. The reason for that is very few People Drive as I do, not racing their Engines to find an Accident or creating one. I am not a Slow Poke, driving from Pennsylvania to Florida I usually arrive two or three Hours ahead of schedule. Make no mistake there is a time and place for running your Engine, the Commute is not the Place or time, it’s a time to Exercise Skills and patience and being Levelheaded. The way I look at it is, if I get into a Fender Bender or get a Ticket on my way to work ,in both cases I am losing time. If I get a Ticket I am working the Day for free and accumulating Points towards losing my License, My Mobility is Priceless.

In that case why would I go out there each and every Day on these congested Roadways driving like a Race Car Driver. Have you ever heard the saying ” every day the Bucket goes to the Well one day the bottom will fall out”. Driving like a Maniac every time you get behind the Wheel one day you will crash, the severity depends on your speed. I have been Driving for over fifty years and its like my Driving Instructor never let the passenger seat, his Words hauntingly reminds me. When you are Behind the Wheel ” leave your Idiosyncrasies and childish behavior behind” the Roadways are not the Place. Why would I not be the most Chilled Driver out there and hope my fellow Drivers catches on that we are not in a Race to the Death.

But instead we should appreciate the Technology immersed in these Death Traps. I am always Leary about Front End Crashes, knowing that short Circuits are my onboard Computer’s worst Enemy, that one Day it won’t prompt me to say a Command and my Surround Sound become disabled. Most Auto Enthusiasts are Enthusiastic about looks and Performance, me I am a Technocrat and Music Buff. Last Words if the Car you are Driving is ten years old, you are either a Collector or can’t afford a New one. If you destroy it you have to take the Bus, worse of all lose your Job. As the Song goes ” Eh Eh Eh I’m on Vacation every single Day cause I Love my Occupation”. For me Driving ten Hours a Week, five hundred miles per week with a Car that I am trying to keep Factory Fresh for the next twenty years is an Occupation and a Labor of 💘.

P.S.  For you Appreciate this Blog the Video is a Must watch, remember what the Author isn’t saying about this Video

Life, Safe Driving

Student Driver

Not having one Accident charged to you covering in excess of one million miles with a Star printed on your Drivers License is an accomplishment in itself. The Star indicates to the Officer pulling me over that I am a safe Driver. By Driving in all kinds of Weather with all kinds of Drivers for fifty years have given me the confidence to be relaxed under all circumstances. My Driving Instructor told me to always look out for the other Guy, I am never concerned about me having an Accident. On the other hand I am always anticipating bad Drivers, to the point of knowing their moves before they make them. It is tough being vigilant all the time, but that’s how you avoid accidents. My Driving Instructor told me to always Drive like I am the only one out there that knows what I am doing. I followed his advice from Day one of getting my License, and that is what has brought us to this point. When I consider stop writing Blogs about safe Driving I remembered this Nurse I met in Pennsylvania. She was in her thirties, she never had a Driver’s License and told me that she never would own one. Curiously I inquired why, she explained that there were too many bad Drivers on the Roadways and that she never would be comfortable behind the Wheel. I promised her that I would teach her to Drive and to be comfortable behind the Wheel. That never happened because I moved to Florida within the year.

Incidentally I thought my Wife to Drive thirty seven years ago. The night before her Road test I took her on the Highway to give her confidence, so she could be relaxed behind the Wheel, the Road Test was nothing compared to the rigorous training passed down from my Driving Instructor. She also have no Accident charged to Her. She was very fortunate to have me teaching her everything my Driving Instructor thought me. Most People weren’t fortunate to have my Driving Instructor. He told me that whenever I got behind I should loose the Attitudes including the Childish ones thinking that Driving is a game. He said that if there was something consuming your thoughts, whenever you get behind the wheel put them on the Backburner. This Man had insights, thirty years before bad behavior behind the Wheel was given a name, he told me the importance of courtesy.

He said that having a Bad Attitude behind the Wheel can get you killed, Hence Road Rage is born. The only attitude I have behind the Wheel is, I treat them all as if they were Student Drivers. There are many good Student Drivers out there, I was one. I am in no way undermining someone learning to Drive. However I Abhor People who Drives that way all their lives. I learned quickly so my Instructor had no anxieties and so spending time to indoctrinate me about the Road and how to stay alive. By treating each Vehicle I approach like the Operator was a Student Driver have saved my Life many times. You can’t go blazing through City Streets and intersection, even if you have the right of way. The couple of seconds it takes to take your foot off the Gas and cover your Brakes is well worth your Life.

The Streets in lower Manhattan is old and poorly designed, danger lurks at each Intersection. One day I approach this particular intersection where I could not see five feet of the opposing Traffic. When that occurrs you treat the intersection like a Roundabout, the Driver to the right has the right of way. At this perilous Intersection I decided to give up my right of way, count to ten then continue with the right of way. Within that ten seconds a Truck ran the Stop Sign taking away my right of way and almost my Life. Lesson learned, treat all Intersection with caution and respect. This is why I treat them all like Children/ Student Driver, always expect them to do the wrong things,  back off and give them Room to burn themselves out, and that is exactly what you do with Road Rage Idiots.

Bad Driving is an Epidemic, Defensive Driving saves Lives. The Highway Fatalities statistics are high in my Neck of the Woods. Each and every time I get behind the wheel for my one hour Commute, making it from point A to point B without a scratch is my only objective. I am never late or in a hurry, Zipping through congested areas is a Fools way of Traveling. I save my Speed for the Highway at three A.M. My car does 170, I have taken it halfway to blow out the Cobwebs and that’s far as it will ever go. Us 19 is my Main Drag, it’s posted 45 and 55 , yet many People have taken lives and lost their Lives doing 100. Do you still wonder why I treat my fellow Drivers with such Skepticism that they aren’t going to do the right thing.

Many of them are like little Kids in an Adult Body unable to make Rational Decisions especially when it comes to Driving. Today while going to work I noticed a Woman combining her Hair while weaving the Traffic twenty MPH over the speed limit. Getting up a half an Hour won’t kill you, chasing that lost time will kill you and others. If she had gone to Driving School I am quite sure that her Instructor would have told her that Multitasking behind the Wheel is a Fool’s way of operating a Vehicle.

This short Video shows exactly why I treat my fellow Drivers like Student Drivers. Twelve O’clock at night wide open Road, four cars on the Road and there is a Traffic congestion. The three cars in front of me occupied all three lanes and are driving at the same speed. The speed limit is 45 and neither was smart enough to take the lead of chose to follow. In Rush Hour this type of mindless driving sets up accident by People squeezing them to get through. Treating them like Student Drivers I waited patiently instead of blowing my Horn and bringing out the Road Rage Beast. After one mile of waiting for an opening I passed them safely. Once I make the lead I always travel ten MPH Over the speed limit to avoid people who travel like Sheep. Unsurprisingly one of the Sheep picked up the Chase and followed me closely for the next twenty miles, then passed me at twenty MPH over the speed limit. Other than driving like Student Drivers, they drive with piss poor attitudes that they are not supposed to be passed. This is the same Idiot who was doing 45 on an open Road, I detected an Attitude and another Road Rage Monster. If this can happen 12 O’clock at night imagine how many Student Drivers with bad attitudes are out there at 8 A.M. finally, the life you save may be your own, stay away from people who drives like Student Drivers with bad attitudes. Space yourself properly until it is safe to pass them. Once I am in the lead I accelerate to ten MPH beyond the speed limit to leave the clutter behind. And that is how I managed to Drive over a million miles with no Accidents, by not being part of the problem.

Insanity! Doing the same thing over and again, each time looking for different results ( Albert Einstein)
